The following graphs shows the variation in roundtrip-times for an 1000 8-byte message between two X1 MSPs, nearest node, and distant node (60). Note the higher jitter on the short hops. Jitter can be caused by any number of factors: context switches on either or both nodes, scheduling variations, or traffic on the interconnect. Data from 7/8/03
