Perhaps you can help locate the King's Natural Bridge.

Louis Philippe (who later was king of France 1830-1848) travelled through the United States in the late 1700's and kept a journal of his travels (Diary of my travels in Ameria, Delacort Press, 1977). In April 1797, he travelled from Maryville to Tellico Block House (Vonore), his log states:

"After Maryville the country becomes flatter, fewer streams. The closer to the Tennessee, the better the land. Some miles from the Tennessee we saw a spring that runs under the road, flowing beneath the boulders that make a sort of miniature natural bridge like Virginia's. We came to the Tellico Block House, also called Fort Wilkinson."

In the late 1700's, the "Tennessee River" is what we call the Little Tennessee today. Below are some maps of the period that might suggest the route taken. Good luck.

Here are some candidate springs between Maryville and the block house.
