Haw Ridge race 2001

race course route 7.7 miles, cumulative climb: 760' ( 10/29/01 to include Twister)

• Race starts/ends at the LDC barricade on Old Edgemoor Road (0.0)
• proceed west along Old Edgemoor Rd and turn left (0.4) and take the Saddle trail to Middle Rd (1.2), post 9
• turn right on Middle Road and then right on to Lake Road(1.4) and then left on Twister (1.5), then a right on Lake Road (1.9)
• follow Lake Road up Red Hill and take a right on the top (2.3) down the Red Hill trail, take the first left, then a right, then left on the connector to Easy Trail (2.9)
• take the right off of Easy Trail on to the South Shore (3.4) trail (post 5) all the way around to the Pond Trail (4.2)
• follow the Pond trail to the Silo trail (4.8), post 12
• take a right down the Silo trail out to its end and junction with East Shore (5.0)
• climb along East Shore where the trail clings above the lake (Side Hill) and follow East Shore all the way out to the power line (5.7)
• go right and climb the power line road (Hill of Truth) to the top, and take a right into the woods on to the north end of Rainbow (6.0) and descend, taking the right and staying on Rainbow to the four-way intersection (post 2), where you take a left along East Shore (6.4)
• follow East Shore, where you take a right on the East Ridge (6.8) trail and climb over the ridge and take the right (7.2) and descend to the eastern end of Old Edgemoor Rd (7.4) and then go left along the pavement back to the start (7.7)
