FOHR will get a sign with our name on it. The Wildflower Walk is scheduled for 9AM on April 24. Please be considerate of the wildflower watchers by riding SLOWLY through the group. ☺ A SIGNIFICANT gift was given to honor Tom Dunigan. Ways to spend the money were discussed including gravel and bobcat work. Cathy Evans to look into getting bobcat gratis. ✍ Four UT creative writing students are working with the Friends of Haw Ridge about getting publicity and writing news releases. All four attended the meeting. Joanne passed around the horse and mountain biking Leave No Trace brochures. Will get these laminated and put on the back of the kiosk for educational purposes. ✍ The next meeting will be second Thursday, May 13 at the Life Development Center. Long term water drainage was discussed. Vehicular traffic (TVA) on the power line is different from recreational trail traffic in design. Kentfs friend Justin is taking a forestry class at UT that might undertake Red Hill as a gprojecth. Boyd does not want to ditch both sides of Red Hill. The Trail Committee will meet next week sometime to discuss just trail issues. Tom is chairman. We recognize need for a more democratic process. Many people do not attend our meetings but still want a voice in projects. A vote on the e-group does not reach all people (some donft have e-mail) and has the potential to be abused. We agreed to put up a metal sign at the entrance trail with words to the effect gPlease do not ride in the park when trail conditions are wet - it damages the trail g. Joanne will look into cost. We also need directions to the West Boundary Greenway as an alternate bike riding location. Jeff Nichols got the old plastic laminated map from the kiosk for $10, effectively squelching Montefs opening bid of $1. Cathy Evans will look into getting a realtor holder thingy for our brochures at the kiosk and Joanne will get a new Lost and Found mailbox for the kiosk. The lid on the old one is broken. ☹ Still a problem with horses on East Edge from a manway and at the top of West Shore. Joanne will place more signs on the Trail Workday. Meeting over at 8:30
